Friday short hunt

7centsworth

Well-known member
A friend of mine has been wanting me to hunt this old house on his farm that his grandad lived on when he was younger. He just wanted to know what was there. I had about two hours to hunt before I had to pick up my daughter. It was trashy and was starting to fall down. I searched beside of the house as close as I could trying not to get into all the briars. Didn't find much except trash until I got to the back. I got a sweet quarter tone and dug down. Then I seen a green coin shape in the dirt. I cleaned it off a little and saw it was a button. Then I noticed it was a world war button. I ask my friend if he new anybody in the war and he said yes his grandad died in it. I handed him the button and said its yours take it home and clean it good. He was speechless and thanked me several times. About ten minutes later I found a 1949 dog tax. I gave it to him also. I also found a nipple off of a muzzleloader.

Great finds and good will gesture!
I'm sure that the button meant more to him than it did to you, and you still had the fun of finding it. You never know what kind of doors may be now opened as a result to boot! Good man!

That was cool of you to give him those finds. wtg and I hope you are able to go back and hunt that place some more.

I think I will be able to anytime. the only problem it is way off the road and you have to have a key to the gate.
