Hi all this is my first post in the Today finds section. The v3i and I have been collecting dust due to some severe back issues and then surgery. At my last checkup the Doc.said Let your back be the judge to what you can do. You won't believe this but my back says detecting is fine but work is out of the question!!!!! Went out yesterday for a little scouting and found a new old pier system in the river. The tide was right and the v was in the truck soooo . Was extremely pleased right off the bat with a large toasted cent . Then found a 1799 skilling and a 1831 cap bust half dime. Just to keep me grounded also scored a 1971 Lincoln. A few buttons, two musket balls and copper nails rounded out the day. Should have had my 5.3 coil with me. The ground around the collapsed piers is almost solid iron. The good thing I guess is all targets are almost on top of the surface. Next time I will be better prepared. Here's a few pics. Goldbill

I love the 1831 half dime. The cap bust coins still elude me.
