FRUSTRATED !

Can anybody give me real life instructions on ground balancing the xterra 305? I have one coming. i have read the pdf manual its lacking in clarity. I have seen the mlotv.com video everything but 305. I even asked Minelab and guess where they sent me? 305 USERS HELP!!!

I would think GBing the 305 is the same as the 50/505 or the 70/705 manually. I am pretty sure about this so don't be bummed.

Your objective is to "tune the ground phase" of your detector to a setting that compensates for the mineralization at a particular site. Set the detector to All Metal. Press the Ground Balance pad and "bob" the coil a few inches off of the ground. Don't let the coil touch the ground. As the coil is lowered to the ground you will hear a change of tone. If that tone has a low pitch, increase the ground phase setting by pressing the + pad. If the tone on the downstroke is high pitched, decrease the ground phase setting by pressing the - pad. Continue to bob the coil and make the appropriate adjustments. Your objective is to find a setting that allows for the least pitch variation when lowering the coil. Kind of a blending of high tone and low tone, with minimal change in your volume. HH Randy
