I really hate to sell this one, especially considering I never got a real chance to go hunting with it, but I've decided to get out of the hobby for a while and pay off some debt. Also, I am starting a new job next month and I will be very busy during the time of year that I normally go detecting, so I probably won't be able to use this much in the near future.
As many of you know by now, the 1021 series were made by Fisher back before First Texas (Bounty Hunter, Teknetics) took over. Although not always true, these older CZ-3Ds are considered to be superior to the newer ones because of the very strict fine tuning standards that Fisher Labs had at the time. After the 1021 series, the 1121's started being produced, but some of these suffered from serious quality control problems because some of the engineers became disgruntled when they found out they were most likely going to lose their jobs when the buyout took place. Similar quality control issues were reported with the newer First Texas era CZ-3Ds.
I have personally performed the "Dankowski test" and this CZ-3D will sound off and correctly ID a clad dime at 11.5", which meets and/or exceeds Dankowski's specifications. It also passes his test in regards to identifying nickels. I gave the serial number to Dankowski himself and he responded with "That should be one of the good ones." This particular CZ-3D also runs very stable in the higher sensitivity levels. I could put the sensitivity to max and it runs extremely smooth in the air test, unlike some CZ-3D's which can start chattering badly at certain sensitivity levels. Unlike some of the other Fisher detectors I have owned in the past, this one is very resistant to EMI interference, which has always been a problem for me in the city. All 3 coils work perfectly. Detector itself is in excellent shape (see pics).
Asking $550 shipped. I would really like to sell this off eBay, but these go for good price there, so if nobody is interested, I will be selling this on eBay.
