I have a very nice CZ-5 that was recently converted to the CZ3-D "Old Coins Specifications" last month. The unit was also calibrated, certified and validated. This is like having 2 machines in 1. The upgrade was $217.00 done by Tom Dankowski with his sticker showing the conversion and new depth. This unit is now 11.6 inches on a dime according to his specification sheet that will be provided. Here are the 16 things he did to the detector:
1. Salt Balance was exacting.....per design specs.
2. Deep target audio smear did not exist.......no correction needed.
3. I boosted "Salt" mode auto-tune/all-metal sensitivity a fair amount more.
4. I stabilized the electronics to a greater level of stability.
5. "Salt" nickel ID was exacting....no calibration required...per engineering specs.
6. Ground Balance internal set-port was slightly out of calibration----and now it is in specs
7. "Salt" Zinc ID was exacting....no calibration needed---per engineering specs.
8. New "Normal Mode" nickel ID is now CZ-3D "old nickels" specs.
9. New "Normal Mode" zinc ID is exacting per engineering design...per CZ-3D old coins specs.
10. "Enhance" auto-tune/all-metal sens was boosted about .02 more.
11. Internal electronics have been cleaned and are now like "new condition"
12. Unit was 11.0" on a clad dime in Normal Mode. Unit is now 11.6" on a clad dime in New Normal mode.
13. Audio Boost circuitry was exacting...no calibration needed.
14. I boosted "Enhance" mode auto tune sensitivity a bit more.
15 ID depth is per engineering design.
16. Repositioned the Sensitivity knob to design intent.
All in all........this is a very good unit. Solid, stable and minimal EMI. I did slightly overdrive the unit.....so if you run into some areas you run into chatter....lower the sensitivity to around 3 or 4
$395.00 includes shipping, printed manual, 2 coil covers (one is new) to lower 48.. Thank You
