This is my original pod for my xcal2, and is 3-4 yrs old. It still works fine, but it lacks the longevity it once had. I recently purchased an alkaline pod and decided to just use that. I used a battery tender jr to charge and maintain the battery pod. In all fairness, I think fully charged, it will get around 5 hours use. The last time I was out with it, I only got around 3-4, but then I don't think I had a full charge in it either. I can send the original charger with it if you like, but the end was cut off to use with my other charger. I would also be sending the cut off end.
I've heard these pods can be repacked at batteries plus as well. The case is in good shape, and has never been dropped, cracked or in any way abused. (It does have some scratches on the tabs from the sand rubbing when taken off.)
