This is the best pair of Rats I have purchased.
Originally owned the variable tone Rats Rick at Detect USA set up for my White's MXT. That set worked great on the Tesoro, Garrett and Minelab I had at the time. Got disgusted with detecting in Georgia and sold my detectors. About a year later, got the bug and picked up a Troy x-5 and afew other older detectors and needed a headset. So I bought the regular dual volume Rats. Worked great.
Due to some moving and lack of time to do any detecting here,,hot 95 degree, hard dry ground...decided to part with the X-5 and the Rats. Should have kept the Rats.........should have known I was not over detecting yet.
Anyways, moving back up North next year so I figured it's time to gear up again. Got my wife a Cibola, for myself a Tejon and Cortes.
Almost bought a pair of Killer B's Wasp that Monte like the best especially with the Tesoros. I needed a headset and heard about the new Max Rats and opted to wait until Rick had them ready for sale. Glad I did wait and ordered a pair.
Spent a couple of hours with them bench testing, as it rained today and couldn't get out.
They are superb!! Clear crisp sounds, you can hear the faintest threshold in all metal. Even using the different tones offered on the Tejon.

Do you have a link to a set? Do they have a volume limiter switch? Do they have dual volume controls, mono switch? My wife has a MXT and does have a set of cheap headphones but the MXT has a pre set volume and to adjust the dual knobs on her set is still hard there still loud and over powering at times.. Maybe this is something we should look into.. Do they make that much of a difference? George
