You know something, I was just looking at all your great finds that you just found and there is something that is missing from your collection that I have yet to see you find. I bet you are wondering what it is that you don't have yet! I haven't seen you find a complete or partially complete fishing rod yet. There is always someone out there that loses a rod and reel due to slipping or just getting pulled into the lake by a big fish. Now you have something to shoot for Mr. Chile if you haven't found one before. Nice finds and I see the latest V-Nickel is in a lot better shape than the last one and Congrats on all your other great finds. Keep em' comin'! Good Luck and HH.

Nice looking 14KT Ring and beautifully engraved old English Style Cuff Link. As James said this is a better looking V and your getting more and more older coins consistently. Looks as if you got the handle of an old spinning reel also. I was about to say, what no fishing gear this time, but I was wrong. WTG and keep it up. Nice to have your helper with you at night as a good back up.

I've found many of fishing poles and reels......
To big to put in the picture
Never one I can use - but this one has a pole that is flexable
I can bend the tip to the handle no problem
needs a little work though..

And thanks once again -
Question: How would you clean the V-Nickle so as not to damage the face of it?

Hey! Thats a tube of the good model glue. The stuff they moved up to the front counter of the stores when all the kids started to sniff it.

Nice finds

No matter what, Nickels are already pitted some so you cannot hurt the value of the coin. What I do is take the Nickel and get it wet and get yourself a fine brissled brass brush and also wet that and then just brush the face and back of it. If you don't put too much pressure on the brush, it shouldn't hurt the coin. You can also boil a small amount of Peroxide in the microwave and then drop the Nickel into it and watch the action of the Peroxide. Just leave it in the Peroxide for about 5 minutes or so and if not as clean as you want it, take the brass brush to it and it should remove the rest of the crud from the coins surface. The Nickel will look either reddish or it will be a dull grey color. Then just take it and put it in some Olive Oil and leave it sit for about 2 weeks. Take it out and wash and wipe it off and you will be amazed at how nice it will look. Hope this helps you Mr.Chile and Good Luck and HH on your Nickel and your next finds.

And you've got yourself a nice pile of loot there. What is that oval item with the old fashioned lettering on it? Man what I wouldn't give to hunt a place like that!

I have used ketchup on a Buffalo Nickel before and was amazed at the results. As long as you don't leave it too long it will clean the crud off also. It left my Buffalo nickel with a grey matte finish. You might need to change the ketchup a couple of times if it gets to cruddy.
