FULL TONES

Since starting the Deus a few months ago, I have mainly done coin hunting. I really like the full tone setting but I'm about to begin relic hunting again and I'm wondering about the advantages of using full tones where you're basically digging anything except possibly iron and maybe that if you think its a ball. I much prefer to keep the same tone settings regardless of the dig and will still dig all good tones, but am I missing some other advantage using full tones for relic hunting. I know some folks, like Tesoro users only want to hear one tone and no iron. Thanks!

Goldfield program 10 is worth considering for relic hunting it uses less filtering.
Get a good GB by pumping while holding the pinpoint, use IAR to reject most iron.

Goldfield uses a single tone that varies in intensity.

Gary could you explain why holding the pinpoint button down while pumping gets you a good GB. How is it better than "not" holding the pinpoint button down and doing the pumping action?

Well,,

Using full tones for relic hunting will definitely work.
I don't use gold field programs.

As far as trying to go the 2 or 3 tone route,,,,the problem you will run into is,,,,you won't be able to run disc as low vs using full tones.

And a person can find some things in around iron and nails using lower disc (0-3) that can slip by you say using disc level 6-6.4 when using 2 or 3 tone.

Full tones,,,gives most of the iron a good tonal signal for recognition while you are moving your coil.

Now,,,in a good relic field,,,while using full tones and get get wrap,,,especially what I call 4 way wrap,,,,I' dig these,,,,can be good iron relics.

Thanks Squirrel1 I see the advantage now. I was only thinking of running the disc low and forgetting that full tones incorporates the iron tones too so the good tones next to iron have to be accenuated. But I'm not sure what a four way wrap is. Sounds like a burrito!

4 way wrap,,

When you are using full tones,,,,you will when you run over some bigger iron objects,,,the Deus will give a high tone,,,but this high tone not the same as a good nonferrous target.

A dirty sound, yet high,,can have high static as well.

When you hit a few of these,,,you'll have better idea.

Now some bigger iron will only give what I call 2 way wrap,,,meaning when you pivot approx 90 degrees,,,only iron tone (grunt) will sound off.

So 4 way means you get it when you first find,,that particualr approach angle,,,then pivot 90 degrees,,,you get the wrap signal described above again.

I hope this helps.

I wish someone that is really proficient at full tones in iron would make a video and then switch to 2 tones so we can hear what we are missing
