If some engineer has offered you the choice:
1. to reduce the weight of your Safari/Explorer/Explorer2 detector by half
2. to increase its depth by 10%
What would you choose?

I would take the weight reduction as well. I have a hard time having a strap/belt/harness around my shoulder because for me it's uncomfortable and the harness wants to shift around. To reduce it by half would be an awesome improvement. Most of the detector could be made in carbon fibre but the majority of the weight is in the coil and then the battery which I don't think you can do much about.

Depth!! A couple more inches with stock coil would be great.

Depth for sure, Think about it nobody has been that deep before, So i would imagine the finds would go way up. And if your digging more often then your arm doesn't get attired because your taking more breaks from swinging.

3 lbs lighter could be a game changer for shoulders and arms ..LOL

Not to be nit picky but 10% of 8 inches=0.8 inches.....less than an inch or 2.032 centimeters. If we are talking less than an inch of depth, I'll still go for the weight reduction:clapping:

You can work around weight so MOAR DEPTH is my handsdown winner.
And that from a guy with an old shoulder injury.
