Hello, I'm thinking of getting a G2, and from reading here, I gathered that the F75 coils will not work on it. Ralph at Sun Ray said he herd that the FX-1 probe might work on the G2. I am doubting that now that I read the F75 coils don't work.

Anybody try using a Sun Ray Probe on their G2 or GB Pro?

On both the GB & G2, at least on mine it did, I tend to favor the hand helds thou cause the inline defeats the light weigh of the G2!!!!!! Mark
 
I told you wrong on the weight of these machines. I said 3.5 pounds but they are lighter. 2.8 pounds for the G2. That sounds like quite a relief from swinging that
4.5 lbs. right?!
My arm is begging for relief and I'm getting serious about this one!
 
I guess, hate to say it, I am getting older and achier. It would be super nice to loose some machine weight. I still have the Exp. SE that sits in the house waiting to go hunting. I could sell that and hopefully pay for most of a new machine.

A friend mentioned the Garrett AT Pro as being good. Anybody do a comparison between that and the G2?

except I've been testing it by myself for several weeks with the GBSE instead of the G-2. This is all back to back in real time.....not one today and the other tomorrow. The weather has been seriously hampering my hunt ops but suffice it to say from early on through the present, I've been seeing the same outcome. If you can't quite figure out or guess which I think is the better one, (obviously for on-land use only), try to find my testimonies on the other's forum. (hint: don't waste too much time doing so) Perhaps Lorenzo's and Brian's upcoming movie, "Our California Big Phat Dectector Shootout" :starwars: will show a different outcome. I'd be surprised if it did but regardless, it wouldn't change what I've seen for myself.
 
I don't have either, but have pretty strong suspicions. Actually, had a chance to play with both (G2) at our recent club hunt and just from ease of assembly, striving to keep from getting the ear phones pulled off the detector down and swing comfort, alone, I know which I would go with. They both, though, will seek out a 6" dime in trash. HH jim tn
 
Jim, I'm sure you know what I meant but for clarity to others, I'm not insinuating there are chasms of differences across the board, but several are what I would consider significant, not to mention, IMO, a few obvious useful feature omissions. 'Nuff said.
 
Like you Brad, I was only mentioning things with the one detector that I saw on the outside that I personally didn't are for. I didn't get enough time with either to make any assumptions on either of their "in ground" capabilities. Enough said be me as well. HH jim tn
 
Did I say that? :biggrin: Let's just say in addition to what you mentioned, relatively speaking, I recognize and appreciate the stability to power ratio, depth of numeric ID function, VCO audio, overall weight and feel, visibility of display, relative ferrous mineralization and signal strength displays, ease, speed and effectiveness of GB system(s), spread/range of tone break adjustibility, performance of all compatible coils, just to mention a few. :detecting:
