G2 Relic use

I am interested in a G2 for coin hunting. The ad in the June edition of Lost Treasure for the G2 states: "The best multi-purpose unit ever made, Excellent for coins, relics, jewelry and gold nuggets". Should the 19 kHz given the relic side away? Sounds IMHO that with a 5"DD coil it would be a coin killer and best used in fairly clear areas (if there is such a thing). With dual processors the recovery time should be ahead of the pack. I can see the gold side of the Gold bug Pro in the ads but the one I have seen for the G2 points me toward it being a good coin machine as well as relic. Really like a lite weight machine with good depth for coins in a need to go deeper case.

be careful!..it's super sensitive to small targets!..19 khz!
could really test your patience!

Johnson made a statement about the G2 a few days ago, where he said that the detector will be best for relic hunting. For coin shooting, it will be a capable machine, but it is not the ideal detector to use for that purpose. The T2 and the Omega in particular would probably do better as a coin shooter.

Get it! I have GB with 5" and it's great on coins in disc. I got it for Meteorite hunting and nugget shooting here in AZ, but was pleasantly surprised
when I took it to local park and got over seventy coins in 2 days.

are you sayin you have a g2 or did I get confused

The lower freq machines seem to do better on coins and the higher seems to do better on relics.G2 will find coins for sure .The Omega 8000 is a lower freq and it is a coin monster in the parks and playgrounds. The Ace 250 that others brag on is a lower freq, the Tejon that is the high freq making it the relic machine of choice by a lot of relic hunters.Several of the HIGH end machine are multi freq machines like the DFX,V3 and most of the high end Minelabs making them the true all purpose machines.

Thanks guys but I picked up a CZ3D over weekend. Dual freq.unit 5 and 15. Best of both worlds. Havent done any field testing yet.
