Gamma 6000 question......

Bryan/EastTN

New member
Was looking at picking up a new Gamma 6000 as backup to my Omega (and to have an extra detector for a partner.) I believe the 3 coils that I have for the Omega are interchangeable with the Gamma (which would be a plus too.) Just wanted to make sure that they would work though. Do any of you guys know if the Gamma has the screw on connector for the coils on the housing instead of the push in connector like the Fisher F5? Just wanted to make sure in advance. I went on the Teknetics website and was reading the online manul for the Gamma and the picture showed the push in style coil connector. They might have changed it though to the screw in type, at least I hope so.

Thanks in advance,
Bryan in TN

I've used the Gamma along with my Omega, side-by-side, and they are almost equal in performance. Actually, the Gamma worked a touch better because at that particular location I had too much EMI with my personal Omega. When evaluating I included the Delta 4000, as well, and used all coils, to include the 5" DD, 8" concentric, stock 10" elliptical concentric, and the 11" BiAxial DD. Yes, all of the coil will interchange, if they are the current Teknetics design.

By screw-on design, just make sure the model is a regular Teknetics. I know that they have made the 'B grade' Delta and others for a mass marketer or two as I had such a Delta before getting the current version. The 'B grade' models had the push-on connector. Earlier releases of some of these only had the
