Gamma

Thinking about picking up a Gamma for $250.What kind of performance should I expect? I had a delta really enjoyed it.Just wondering thank you! Mainly using it for coinshooting some relic or cache hunting. Old foundations and such.

I enjoyed my gamma. It really hit hard on nickels. It was super light weight with good balance. And I prefer a centrif coil over any DD.

The only negative was EMI interference. You really have to back off the sens\gain to keep it stable.

Have a great day! larry...

I had an Omega about 4 or 5 years ago, I really liked it other than the fact it would go totally nuts around emi even when I turned the sens down, so I sold it. Just lately I picked up a Gamma thought I would try one more time. I think its a keeper. First test I turned it on in the house and ran the sens up to 99 had just a little emi but not much. Took it out side where my test garden is, there are over head power lines about 10' away and no problem with emi, my Omega would go nuts at this spot. Stock 8" coil default settings it would hit my 7" dime in the test garden don't have any coins deeper than 7" in my garden so it might go a little deeper out on a hunt. Next I took it to a park that me and a bunch of other guys have hit hard over the years, again no problem with emi and pulled out 3 pennies in a spot that is loaded with trash using the stock 8". I'm real happy with the gamma. I guess they might of fix the emi problem with the Omega but I got a pretty sweet deal on the gamma. Heck I might even pickup another Omega someday.

The Gamma is a fantastic coin shooter and very underrated as it is overshadowed by the Omega. It is more stable and and a joy to use with many useful features. It is a great buy (a steal) for 250 bucks. I have the 3 tek coils for mine plus 2 NEL coils that I have since sold. I have come to find that the STOCK 8 inch coil with this machine is THE best coil in my area. I could constantly go behind my DD coils and find targets they missed in my tests. I would not hesitate to get it.
