I'm looking into these to detectors for coin shooting only and do not want to spend more $ than these two detectors. I'm not a beach hunter and live in south Jersey.
ALL COMMENTS WELCOME!

Wilbur, The Elite is a good machine but I would go
with the 1350. I think that the learning curving is
easier on the 1350 and you'll do better. FWIW, Richardntn

I've owned an Elite and several Garretts, Garretts are easier to pinpoint, the Elite is a real*** to pinpoint compared to Garrett. Ml you must use headphones, the loudspeaker volume on Sov. is low. Sov. do not distigish dimes. quarters, and copper cents on their 550 meter.

I know the Sovereign doesn't like Canadian coins, so depending on where you live, you might miss out on the one and two dollar coins.

Had the Sov. Elite, slow going machine, tuff to pinpoint. You need to buy and install the meter recalibration kit to make the meter identify coins more postively. And modifiing the Elite with a pinpoint switch helps out greatly.
Nice detector but hated it. And I gave it a fair chance on learning how to use it.
Garrett all the way

and see what type of answer you get. <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">
All depends if you're a fast swinger just looking for coins, or the type that takes his time to search out the oldies.

Think you would find the Garrett much easier to learn and use.

Both detectors are very good.
Learning to use the sov elite will take alot longer than the garrett 1350.
They will both do you justice!!
It is all down to personal preference.
They will both find coins when used correctly

For the money you can't beat a minelab advantage.A friend has one, get the 10 coil.I personally use a gti 2500 .
