Garrett 1500 or the 1350 ... ????

I also use the 1350 and I think it's awesome! But, looking at the 1500 for about 60 - 70 bucks more and you get 5 sizing features on it's imaging versus the 3 that come on the 1350. That would be worth the extra. Back when I bought mine the price difference was greater and you got the pro pointer free with the 1350 so that sweetened the deal for me. I guess you can't really go wrong either way. On the 1350 you have profiling with all coils versus the 1500 you lose it with small coil. I'm probably not being much help.:garrett:

Profiling versus imaging. My opinion here is imaging is better. I have a very difficult time hunting with any detector without imaging now. I just love it.

Round versus eliptical coil. I find round a lot easier to pinpoint with but with practice both are easy.

I am not fond of the flat buttons on the 1500.

I wanted true all metal and went with a 2500.

Look for a package that includes a Pro-Pointer or a small coil, or better yet both. They had a few real good packages late last year into 2009. They might still be out there.

I don't know what's in the works at Garrett but I am waiting for them to release a new high end machine which I will buy immediately.

Except for imaging on one and profiling on the other they are identical detectors. It's just a matter of choice as to which feature you want. I prefer the imaging as it provides more information.

i agree with chris, imaging is a very nice feature. i have an ace 250 and a gti 1500. i use the 1500 99% of the time. just because of the imaging. i am very happy with the performance of the 1500. the ace is probably as great of a machine as everybody says, i don"t know if i will find that out, because of the 1500 with imaging. i may rely on the imaging too much, i don't know.
