Garrett Ace 250 large coil cover

Nice job, if you oversized it a couple of mm on the outer edge it would also protect from sideways knocks etc
 
If you detect in rocky areas like on creeks, Ok on coil covers. However if you mostly hit Tot-lots, parks, sand boxes, schools, old homes, etc, they're just added unnecessary weight swinging on the end of your detector, that does add up in a hours time. I abandoned them years ago. In my opinion, they are one of those things that sounds really good, but are really unnecessary. Most of my detecting is gold hunting on creeks and around boulders, and there are not even any dents in my coil. Again just my opinion.........but for what ever it's worth. :shrug::beers:
