Hello. This is my first post.
I am in search of a Garrett GTAx 1000, fully functional or for parts.
I have owned one since 1996, but recently, in an attempt to repair it, I inadvertently ended up burning out something on a circuit board. I assumed so from the electrical odor than ensued.
One day, after a very long break from metal detecting, I took my detector to a local beach to try it out. It didn't power up. At home, when I took a look inside, the MOSFET fell out. My initial soldering attempt worked, however, upon reassembly of the control housing, one of the clips on the power connector broke. I ended up incorrectly wiring a new connector as as "straight thru," not in reverse, thus the electrical problem that I incurred.
So, it is my hopes of finding that particular circuit board so that I can drop it into my unit to bring it back to life. It has to be a GTAx 1000 version.
If you have anything that I could use, I would greatly appreciate you contacting me.
