Has anybody tried the Garrett THD security scanner for a pinpointer? It has 360 degree side scan as well as on the tip like the Pro Pointer. It doesn't have the annoying audio like the Pro Pointer just the vibration and a L.E.D.
It has a flashlight you can turn off, located in the tip. You can cover the led on the tip with a red cap so as to not muddy it and for night hunts. Infrared light doesn't ruin night vision. This is why military vehicle dashes have red gauges.
The THD frequency is 95khz which theoretically is really sensitive to small gold (good for nugget hunting),as opposed to the 14khz for the Pro Pointer. The THD has no scraper blade though, no biggy though.
The THD is completely waterproof (no speaker holes). The THD passes the mil-spec drop test.
Kind of makes me go hmmm? What do you fellows think?
