Can anyone tell me if detecting is allowed on the beaches at Jekyll Island and St. Simons Island Ga.? Cant find anything on the web about it.

Thanks

a State Park and well posted at the entrance "NO metal detecting allowed! i even contacted the Governer here as to why?.the beach is public, but they controll it . i hunted Saint Simons last wed and found 2 rings.but it is well hunted and the sand on this coast is building up bad.i hunt Tybee about 4 days a week along with 4 other reg hunters.its picked pretty clean. Hilton Head about 45 miles north can be good .not much sand build up there as the beach faces south, but not much sand moves out there. good luck

humm, ive hunted those beaches just this summer, i didnt have any problems, but i didnt know you cant hunt there either..:detecting::clapping::minelab:

Thanks Guys,

I'll be moving to southeast Ga. this spring and need to find some inland spots as well. I'm a C.W. relic hunter but I don't know of any action or troop movement in the Alma, Douglas, Hazelhurst area.
