Dagger has ben found in GMP in the mud after river has been cleaned. Probably it will not be possibile to save the scabbard, but hopefully rest, including the wooden handle will survive.
 
Very interesting find, congrats. Would be really neat to see it again once it's restored.
 
Unfortunatelly it can not be restored, because the blade has corroded away, but remaining parts can be used for reconstuctions. Please note remains of golden lettering "Alles fuer Deutschland" indicating that it was an early pre W.W.II version.
