it was delivered Tuesday and finally a day off tomorrow so excited to take her out! I'm in a new town so i cant go to known locations and compare it to my previous detectors that will have to wait.

I've only used mine for an hour, but I think I'm gonna love it. Hope to get back out with mine this week. Hope you find some great stuff!

Hey Bart. Took the T2SE out again for a bit yesterday. I was ready to burn it at the stake and pull out the trusty MXT Pro, but I stuck with it. Finally started to get the hang of it, though I've still got a long way to go. The T2 likes to lie about iron nails, just like the MXT. My settings were 90 on sens., 25 disc., and 2+. Tried all metal for a while, but don't think I'm ready for that yet. Any thoughts?

(I did find a 1939 Merc though!)
 
I dont know any machine that an iron halo doesent appear as a good target sometimes one way to tell see where center is when you pinpoint if it changes in relation to where center is in standard search mode its iron, plus the I.D. will dance around more istead of locking on plus the integrity of the sound.Had experience with the mxt and the T2 the latter much faster and better seperation takes some time getting used to a new machine.My buddys wife saw my machine wanted it, had a week moment wish I had it back.Made a trade for a omega 8000 its a bit different then my g2 going out with it after this post.CEDARSWAMP P.S. Ill will give the results latter,,,,,,,,,,give a machine at least 40 hours.
 
Oh, I'm not giving up on it. I've read way too many positive reviews. I felt the same way about the MXT in the beginning. I think I know that unitpretty well now and am very comfortable with it. I'm sure the T2 will live up to its reputation once the operator gets his act together. :rolleyes:

Keep with it its a fantastic machine but youve got to pull back on the revs, lower your sensitivity to 70-80 and lower disc to 10, listen for the iron,
it tells you whats going on in the ground, dont sweep as fast as the manual tells you or you will miss a lot, dont rely on the screen, listen to the tones,
2+ is the best tone, not to confusing, If you get iron grunt with a sweet dig me tone dig it could be a coin beside a nail, in the uk we dig anything over
47 and under 90, this is thanks to our Scottish T2 Guru Toddy.and hes dead right it works.
 
is there a hard case that fits this detector well?
 
Ive been using the T2 SE for close to 50+ hours and have really learned a lot.Iron nails/iron are very tricky. I use all metal mode 80-90 sens BP mode and ground balance every 10 mins or so. I trust my screen and the sound of the signal. If you get a nice 87 then it drops to a 15 then back up to an 87 It is most likely iron. I havn't found anything but Iron when Im trying to make it stick on that 87:thumbup: You have to dig the repeatably solid signals pinning close to or around your initial 2 digit number. Im consistantly looking at my screen while Im swinging. Now on rare occasions Im sure a coin can be on edge and give you that jumpy high/low signal. Thats why I dig all the iffies. Also there could be a target directly next to Iron that can give the same result. Dig anything repeatable 50 and Higher. The iffy signals are up to you. I would recommend starting out digging the solid repeatables. Ones you have sucked that area dry of them go back over and dig those high/low iffies. You just might be pleasantly suprised at a copper sitting on a nail. I rarely use discrim unless Im in a trashy area. The depth loss if very noticable and I feel like I could be missing all the deep goodies. All metal seems to run very smooth but your going to hear ALOT of signals. Mostly iron 15's ,20's,35's are the most common. Hot rocks seem to hit at 48. Try that out and get back to me. ~Jim
 
In the UK I test the nails by moving the search head say left to right as normal then move the coil top to bottom. If the signal remains the same and above 40 then you must dig it. Usually the nails click on one of the sweeps..I have been using my SE in boost for most of the time its noisier but you soon get used to the false ones when you hit a positive there is no doubt I never use the Cashe mode no good for me. My settings 75 18 then boost
