Took out to an old boat landing this morning. Knew this was going to be a real test in nerves and machine as this place is full of tabs, bottle caps, .22,.223 and larger brass, Cans, you name it! Well I set the gain at 50 thresh at -2 disc. Out everything but dimes quarters .50. D2....man, so many chirps and sqeaks, but when I heard that sqeal and it was a solid 70-72 new it was a penny, and it was! 68 was .22 brass, 74 was big brass, 77 was a dime (had to dig as I have only have afew so far. 80-81 was a quarter. Only 3 pennys, 1 dime, 1 quarter. This was great to me as I only dug for coins and proved to myself that I can tell the difference with sound and then the numbers. The overloads were many (cans) but this md will clearly distinguish and notch out! I can't wait to get more swingtime, this thing rocks!

I love the F5. I'm still learning mine too. I find the ground balance to be the hardest thing for me to understand.
