Getting into schools

Sometimes schools are locked up when we want to get in to dig. Of course they are off limits, but open, when the kids are in school also. However, there are days when no kids are there but the teachers are working and other days when the school may be open to the maintainence crews. Like the Spring time - for spring break. We are in that now and I hope to have a good report tomorrow. So if you have a locked up one think about this - call the school and ask when spring break is. Steve in so az

you had a great idea but here in Michigan we're still asking ourselves when is Spring <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">
You are right though. I've run across some Saturdays when the schools are closed but the maintenance people are working. Kinda nice to shoot the breeze with the floor crews - and even get tips or hints from them.
One playground is what I call the 'quarter' playground. Most of the finds there are quarters. Talking with the maintenance people I find the hot lunch program costs 75 cents so the kids get a dollar from their Mom or Dad and pocket the quarter. Later they go to lunch and lose the quarter. Bad part though is those kids who get 75 cents in quarters for lunch and lose them in the playground before lunch.
Thanks for the tip on getting into the playgrounds that are locked up, Steve.

the maintainence guys they always say they find a ton of coins up on the roofs when they go there. Steve

I had heard of a bird stealing coins from a car wash vending machine. Do you think maybe some of the birds might find the shiny coins and be dropping them on the roof? Can't imagine kids just tossing money on the roof unless it is maybe pennies.
Makes me wonder.
