I suddenly have a lot of competition I'm my area! Everybody must've run right out and bought detectors when gold went up because places are CLEEEN! Well, ALMOST. My good finds are pretty few right now since I've only been out a few times but I've noticed something-they're deep! I found a thin, child's ring in waistdeep water that I know others missed! How do I know? Because I was working behind the folks that beat me to the water that day and I was standing in a crater while scooping. I thought surely somebody would drown in the crater I made by the time I got down to scratchy little signal that I almost passed up! Not so fast, that crater had a gold ring in the bottom! Later I called an Excal user over to compare on a really deep signal I was getting. He couldn't read it! It turned out to be foil, but i know the Excal-I had one-and I was impressed by the AT! The heavy, wadded up chunk gave a signal I wasn't going to pass up!

Last night at the local totlots...3 of 'em, slim pickings! What I did get came from WAY down in the sticky, smelly mulch where coins go to die! There were very few shallow targets to be had. So, slow down a bit and be ready to do some serious digging! The AT Pro is THE tool for when the going gets rough!
