God is GREAT!!!! (Long - a witness to God's Love and care for us)

God has provided me with a job where I have gone from hardly any hours to lots of overtime. That is a blessing. God meets our needs...even before we have knowledge that we have a need. Sherry and I have been saving for another vehicle. The one we have has seen such failings that it had to been God who kept it together even this long. We had a side door that literally fell off and had to be reattached and even then opening it is a task in itself. The drivers door had to be screwed shut as the latch mechanism froze and broke on the coldest day last winter. This added to the fun as I then had to slide in across the passenger side bucket seat to get to the drivers side - and wait for the passenger to get out so I could get out...being held captive. The front end shakes at various speeds making it unsafe at any speed. The transmission is leaking and sometimes I sit in the road waiting for the fluid to get to the 'go forward' gears. No heat and no A/C in the old van so it was COLD in the winter and Hot in the summer. The van needed to be replaced. It surprised me I was able to get to work with it each day.

One of those 'God things' happened yesterday. Casey knew a guy who sells Harley motorcycles and accessories. He came into Burger King and God urged her to ask him if he had any cars for sale. He said he does - 2 in fact and at a price we could afford. We took our savings and went to see the guy with Casey and Leelan. By the time all was said and done we drove home with a van 4 years newer than what we previously had. Other than a rust spot by the left rear tire and a couple problems that don't stop us from driving it safely, we almost feel we are driving a NEW van. The heat can drive us out and the A/C even works though probably won't use it til Spring now.

It has things we never would ask God for...such as a CD player. God knows the radio reception up here is not good for Christian radio stations...He provided us with the CD player that ROCKS. We can now listen to CDs when we take trips and to church. I can listen to Joe G's CDs in the van!

We never had decent headlighting on the other van. Worried us when we drove at night (especially being up here where deer roam the roads at night)...God has provided this new vehicle with better headlights AND with driving lights! Top it all off I can even get in on the drivers side and not have to crawl out through the passenger door.

Here is a pic of the old van so you get an idea of its condition:

Now to give you an idea of how God provides for His kids in need - here is the new van:

This is the inside view - WOW!!!

We had saved $1,300 towards the van and the guy wanted that amount and once we got there he dropped the price to $1,200, saving us $100 too.

We mentioned to each other last Sunday it would be nice if we could car pool with another of our church members as we both drive about 25 miles to church on Sunday. But we knew we could not even offer to do that when driving the old van. Now God has made it possible to make that offer and save our Sister in Christ some money and wear and tear on her vehicle.

Here is one happy Pete in MI who can get in and out the drivers door again.

Thank you Father for meeting our transportation needs beyond what we though we could afford and thank you all Brothers and Sisters as I know you have been praying for good things to happen in our lives. Thank you!
