General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

I GOT SCAMMED BY SCOTT ORR, FROM HUNTINGTON WV 25705. I CALLED POLICE TODAY, THERE GOING TO GET BACK WITH ME ABOUT PROSECUTING HIM. I LIVE IN MA. SO I HAVE TO GO THROUGH CHANNELS. IL KEEP YOU ALL POSTED. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
 
I hope Scott Orr will make this right with you, if not he should not be on the Findmall advertising things for sale. One thing you did get the Detector you ordered, so he did held up what he was suppose to do, but if it didn't work when he shipped it he should have said this so you knew. Now if it did work when he sent it it is possible something happened in shipping which your insurance if you put it on that should take care of it.
I bought 2 different detectors off E-Bay and was told they work perfect when shipped, but one the battery contacts were missing, so I don't know how it could have worked as they were corroded off. The other one had a bad coil that was shorted and both of these people swear it worked perfect when shipped.
Now what you got is a used detector you bought and paid for, but you know like anything you buy used there is no warranty unless you have it written and sign by the seller so you may have a tough time taking him to court unless you have a warranty signed by the seller as the judge will throw it out of court, I have seen this happen to many on used cars that fall apart the first day after buying them. This is why a person should buy new as you have a full warranty and one of the reason Minelab and others will only warranty to the original buyer. If you buy used this is also a question to ask the seller if it works like it should and put it in writing so you have something to go with if it does not work. The other thing is buy from those you know or those that are highly recommended as they will do the right thing and I hope Scott Orr will also do the right thing too and send it it as checked out as it is under warranty for him and wont cost him anything but the postage unless it has been abused or dropped.

Good luck and I hope it will all turn out OK for you in the end, I hate to see stuff like this happen on this forum as most are great people that some will go way out of their way to do what they can.

Hey Rick thanks for your response, Scott Orr did say it was working. BUT bottom line, it didn't work when i got it. an i took it out of the unopened box Scott sent it in. he also said it had a valid blank warranty card from mine lab but it's non transferable, all though i did not know that at the time, and maybe Scott didn't either. but i did give him a chance to get back to me , an to my surprise there was no response. i was so bummed out for im a disabled guy of 52 an my income is very limited. i paid $1250 for a broken etrac, thats a lot of money to me, but thats my problem. so im going to pursue this for now, i received some advise from the police on the steps to take, im waiting for a response from my lawyer, although this guy has a PHD in something so he can probably afford a lot better lawyer than i can. we'll see what happens. thanks again Rick for your concern.
