Interesting observation. This makes me want to perform this test on my ORX that claims to have normalization always on.

I tested my ORX 9.5 hf at lowest frequency with 1970 nickel and 2024 quarter at 6 inches. Nickel 62-63 lowest frequency and 63-64 at highest frequency. Quarter 94-95 lowest frequency 94-95 highest.

Try sweeping gold ring or ring pull (without beaver tail attached) Using lowest possible freq and highest possible freq. see what you get at each freq.
Are you using the elliptical shaped hf coil? Or the 9” round hf coil.

It's cold outside and almost midnight here in Ohio but I got 52-53 lowest frequency and 58-59 highest frequency at 6 inches approx on 14k gold child size thin ring that fits 1/3 up my pinky finger. I don't have a pull tab handy.

I would say the always on normalization helps somewhat. I sold my D1, so can't compare them here.

Sounds lot like hf2 in mono program.
