Eureka, after 8 months of digging all manner of coins and lots of other goodies (including practicing with my wifes jewellery in the garden,when she is not looking of course),I found a 9ct tie pin,it makes all those tear tabs and sore backs worth the wait.
Also a mixture of coins $25 in modern currency,lots of clad and a few cool older silver threepences and a nice 1900 sixpence.The little pendant is from avon tyres and made from brass......cheers jim.
