Hunted an old spot where there use to be a public swimming pool. Did the usual setup on my 705 and went about 10 steps in the tall grass and got a solid 28 . Im glad it wasnt jumping or i might of passed on it. Couldnt belive what i saw 6in down. A1962 class ring .Weighs 14.9 grams and is 10k. Changed some things on my setup after reading tips and tricks on the 705.The 1936 merc and the silver earing and hair bret are from Wed and Thur lunch huntsAlso found 3 wheaties at the pool site.Need some more rain and the grass cut there so its easier hunting. Neighbor told me last year a guy hit it and found alot of good stuff. He missed the ring.Sorry about the pic.Need camera with macro.Anyone know of a good one?

nice finds i have had lots of people tell me the parks around my area have been hit hard
but i still find stuff with my 705

Congrat's on the nice Gold and Silver.

Have you tried to track down the owner of the ring? I've found 4 class rings now and was able to return two of them. One did not want it when I called her and the other one was from 1923 and I could not figure out what school it was from.

Looks like you had a good week, both Silver and Gold, nice finds.

Class rings are a great find, and 99% of the time mean so much to that person...but they are not always easy to return... It is the one ring that can give you so much info on the owner..school,initals,full name,major,year,..you would think it would be easy!!....my interest is how long has its been lost? ..I have 3 that i found recently, one that i know was a fresh drop...I've used Zabba.search, alumni message boards,classmates.com,newspaper, and other forum members...still trying!

Assuming its a 62 HS ring.....they would be around 69 years old...I have a 46 posted on their alumni message board...but was told they don't know where she is or if she is alive...A 1990 UNT ring...I'm closing in on him, only had it a week. Good Luck HH

I have a couple questions, first what was your "usual setup" and then what things did you change after reading tips and tricks?
Thanks for the help,
Lee

Ground balance then noise cancel.I dropped my ground balance 5 numbers below what it balanced. Used to run my threshold at about 10-11. Ive been playing it with alot and now run it at 6-7. I seem to hear the little chirps from deep targets alot better since i changed the threshold and dropped the ground balance numbers. I really need to get a dd coil for some of the trashy areas.

Even fuzzy that ring looks sweet:clapping: congrats
Doc

Nice! My mom lost hers in one of our local parks back in 59 or 60.. I want to go look but need a better machine and need to talk to the park rangers, see if I can for one and see if they know where the old area is where they used to shoot bows and arrows.. My mom kinda remembers the location, but not sure where..
