Sometimes you don't know what you have until you test it. I was putting stuff into 2 x 2s for my brag book and I took a close look at the bird pin I found this afternoon. I got out a gold polishing cloth and rubbed it down and it shined up nicely. I thought at best it might be gold plated but when I put it on my gold tester it came up as 10k! Yipppppeeeeeeeeee! So I got my first gold of 2009 and didn't know it for 12 hours. That is a big monkey off my back not that I was worried. OK, I was beginning to worry. 1.5g, 10k gold, $18.55. Now I wish I had taken the dirt from the hole and brought it home with me to look for the stones.
