Gold issues with 250 & 2500

Goldburn

New member
I recently gathered a few genuine gold items to bench test with my detectors.

Running in jewelry mode/stock level sens:

It picked up a 5 gram 14k ring with a repeatable tone in the nickel range, the same with a 10k/4 gram ring.

A 12 gram 14k bracelet, fell just below the jewelry notch to first notch on both detectors. (2+ to 3 on GTI)

A small 14k necklace with charm, at about 2-3 grams, was completely invisible on the Ace, and would only light up a 2+ on the GTI when it was touched to the coil. Granted, this is a tiny necklace but for the Ace not to give a peep concerns me a little.

Does this mean that I should turn that notch on during hunts where gold may be present (Beaches/Playgrounds) or perhaps I need to alter settings to optimize for gold?

i run all metal with the ace and dig all tones above iron i dig alot of tinfoil & a bit of gold. if you wont to get 90% of the gold you"ll have to get a gold machine but you"ll still miss the fine necklace & earrings + dig heaps more junk

Chains are extremely difficult to detect because your detector only sees one link at a time not the whole chain.
