Gold master

I have a older gold master i got from my step gran dad and was wanting to know if the coil is waterproof. And if the new coils will work on it. Also can i find out what year it was made by the serial numbers? Thanks

Moreover, Anyone use one for prospecting and find any gold with it?

Thanks....

The older goldmasters find gold, but ya gotta know how to use it as they are manual ground balance machines..if you could post a pic of it or something so we can see what machine you have it would help. To the best of my knowledge it should run the newer coils and they are waterproof....goldmasters are great gold machines.

i have found lots of nuggets with whites goldmasters

i believe all the coils are interchangeable

If it is blue it is an old 1980s or earlier T/R Goldmaster and basically just a collectors item. Only coils marked waterproof back then were waterproof. Black box models commencing with the Goldmaster II around 1990 and up to now all share coils, and the coils are all waterproof. White's can indeed tell you the year of manufacture with the information on the serial number plate.

Thanks Steve and everyone else. It is the black box model with thershold, and gain, and boost. I will upload a pictures after i get back Monday from panning.
