gold numbers

hi everyone,i'm just posting this question to get an idea on the i d numbers your getting when finding gold rings.i know they can vary greatly .usually i hunt on the beach in coin and jewellery mode and i have a safari.thanks.

I have roughly 50-60 hours on my Safari and have found three gold rings so far, all of them in the turf and 1-3" deep. Two 14K mens wedding bands and one small 18K womans ring. All of them were from 14 to 16 and bounced at least two numbers. My wedding ring hits at 19 in air tests.

Good Luck!

thanks psyvad, your info just confirms for me that it is very risky to try to discriminate rectangular can tabs.i think that digging a bit of extra junk is worth the trouble, cheers from peter.

I air tested my wedding band, 14k and it was a consistant 26! Guess being in the ground makes a lot of difference? Onus

I have a gold nugget ring, a class ring and a mans wedding band and they all bounce from 23 to 26 in an air test, but tend to settle at 23. Just the difference in machines I suppose ? Onus
