Which would be the best for nugget hunting the Deepstar or Aquastar?Being 15 volts rather than the Minelabs 6 volts will this give more depth?I detect in Scotland with a SD 2100,ground balancing never needs touched but electrcal interferance can be a big problem in certain areas.I am getting nuggets down to 0.3 grams will these detector work on that size of targets?

The Deepstar is at least as good as the SD2100 in range and sensitivity to small nuggets. The Aquastar would be better on even smaller items. Neither detector has ground balancing, so you would need to determine whether your ground is truly non magnetic. Both units are much less affected by interference that the SD's and have a manual frequency control that can be adjusted if interference is encountered. Are you searching in streams and rivers?
Eric.

Hi Eric, yes I am detecting in streams and rivers and a water-proof detector would be a blessing as I have nearly fallen under on slippy stones and I dont think this would do the SD2100 much good.I am using mono coils and I have never had to ground balance so I take it the mineralisation cant be that hot.Does the size of coil affect the sensitivity of the detector to the size of the targets??
