Hi all just scrolled down throught the posts to catch up and am pretty excited about the detector. I've read it has a minimum pulse delay of 10, so am assuming it has a variable pot? With the ability to turn the pulse width up this unit should still be very capable on the wet sand, am I right? Also I'm so glad that a SAT control was added because this is seriously what's lacking with the SD's. If this detector can produce a smooth threshold by eliminating ground effects and interference with the combination of the SAT and the variable pulse delay, then it is a winner in my book, even if it doesn't go as deep as some other units. Also, the light weight and waterproof coil not to mention the lower price all combine to make this one user friendly machine. I have been waiting for a deep, lightweight, sensitive all metal unit for some time now, and it seems my prayers have been answered. Any photo links??
Would love to know how it will handle our aussie soils. Well done Eric and Mr. Bill and all others involved.

I am also enthused about the Goldquest as it is quite a versatile detector, but I have doubts that it would perform well in Aussie soil. It has been tested on US soil, and did well, but without having usage in Australia first, I could hardly recommend it.
The soil in Australia is quite different than the gold fields here in the US.

Geeze Bill: With your post and photo you have decreased my enthusiasm dramatically. We follow what you say because we know it is the truth. Some times I am guilty of embellishments but not you and we appreciate it.
If you want to see some hot ground in the US that will rival Australias, I can show you some.

Hello Bill, I have watched this unit for a long time. It looks very interesting to say the least. I have been looking for a unit with good depth, without the hi price of some units. Looks like a winner! I will be waiting on ground tests in hot soil to make my decision in a month or so on this unit. I like what I see so far =^). Also how good would this unit be on dry-land relics?
