Gold Racer - The "Nickel King"

Ringzapper

New member
Well for those who want to find nickels , this is the machine to have. I got my gold racer delivered a few days back and am very happy with the detector so far.
The gold racer should be re named "Nickel King" as the response to these kind of coins is excellent, the gold racer hits strong and hard on the deeper nickels , as a coin shooter for
your average copper coins the red racer will beat it hands down, but on the nickels the gold racer really is sharp and strong , really really good in fact. The gold rings / nickels won't stand a chance of hiding if your gold racer
coil goes over it. I am digging iron with the gold racer at the moment as i am new to this detector , i think with practice i can avoid digging much more iron.
Those thinking of buying a gold racer for general coin hunting will find the red racer the better detector IMHO. Those who like nickels and are ring hunters should buy without hesitation the gold racer.
I am finding that using pinpoint to size up a target is a good way to ID clumps of foil. I can't say much more about the detector yet as i only a have a few hours in so far, maybe 4 hours.
I will post a much more detailed review once i have another 50 hours on the gold racer.

mine is 50 miles away  hurry up already :poke:

thanks for the report so far its sounding good :wiggle:

a whole new way of detecting and learning gotta love this sport always something new to learn.

good luck out there!

AJ

Yep that is what i have found , the higher KHZ machine do not do well on high conductors, but the machine is totally geared for gold and that should be taken into perspective. its for Gold not silver coins .

Went out today with the gold racer and got a tiny earing with stones in , missed by my other detectors , not diamonds but the gold racer is a great complement to the red racer.

Gold coins and nickels are gold racer primary finds jewelry too, thats if your not a nuggett hunter of course , you find coppers with the gold racer but i noticed they are not deep - 4.5 inches deepest so far on copper coin.
