Gold testing expert needed

coinspader

So I have a bracelet I found awhile ago and it has no makers marks, it is heavy for it's size so I got myself an acid gold testing kit to see what it might be made of, I scratched 6 separate dots on the black stone and put a drop of each of the 6 acid solutions on each dot and I got some confusing results. I tested for 22k,18k,14k,10k,silver, and platinum. The only dot that remained was the 18k dot, what is this test telling me?

Tells me you didn't get a very good test scratch. If plated you could get a good test and then have scratches from the base material underneath that dissolve. I don't just leave a "dot"when I test something but make a mark 1/4" wide and 1/2" long to really know. If it's gold you will hardly be able to tell and you're probably just going to pawn it off anyway so what does it matter if it has a little scratch.
