Golden Old Tones-New Tones?

There was an explanation of the old tone and new tone on the Tesoro site under golden umax.Mostly covers how the nickel is mid tone.I think on the old setup the nickel hit on a lower tone.It is a very effective cherry picker in the trash.I want to try mine on a relic hunt.See what kind of sounds i get.
