Old Tone Golden stock 9"x8" coil air test # 197824
Settings, disc.min., notch off, sensitivity 10, notch knob 12:00 oclock. just conserned with response
guarter 5", dime 31/2", nickle 4", copper penny 4", zink penny 41/2", modern tab 51/4", beaver tail tab 51/4"
small square nail 3", bottle cap 51/2", foil juice top 41/4", small 14kt. gold ring 4", thin silver ring 41/2"
Should these numbers be higher in air test?
Is there another coil that will get more depth?
Do I need to send it to the tesoro doctor?
Thank's for and input

The quarter seems like it gets at least 8" on my new tone.I would call Tesoro and talk to Robert or Rusty. They might want to check it out.The golden place is not depth by no means. It's strong point is getting good targets out of trash. O:)

Jabbo has the gist of it.

When you play with the threshold, listen for EMI. I was unable to conduct reliable air tests of a Silver umax while indoors, so my suggestion would be to go outdoors, get the threshold set correctly (and make sure it is stable), and then conduct an air test.

Your detector needs a trip to the doctor.

Set your threshold to 3:00 and if your nickel doesn't improve to at least 8", send it in for a check up. If you get 8 to 10" on the nickel, but the quarter is still below 6" then your ground balance setting is off (set too high) and will need to be adjusted.

So.........the threshold effects depth on the golden? I didn't think the golden could be super tuned?

You can hear EMI running in the threshold audio if it is bad - that's all I was concerned with.

I talked to Rusty Henry today, what a great guy, he said to send it in for a tune up.
Thanks to all
