Hello Everybody
A little advice required please <img src="/metal/html/confused.gif" border=0 width=15 height=22 alt=":?">
Can a Goldquest SS be run on Ni-MH rechargable batteries ? and if it can will it function properly.
Many thanks
Bryan

Hi Bryan,
I have used the GQSS with a pack of 8 NiMh batteries with no noticeable drop in performance. There will be a slight loss in transmitter output at the lower voltage (10V), but the effect on detection range is of no consequence on the beach. Raising or lowering the searchcoil sweep by 1/2in would have more effect.
The GQSS is designed to work from 13.5V down to just above 8V, when the low battery warning kicks in.
Eric.

I always use rechargable batteries ,cheaper and convenient .
