Goldquest ss how to get coil shaft loss from rod?

William

New member
I need help with a stuck coil shaft on my goldquest, I can't get the rod off of it. Its stuck good. Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks William

Hi William,

Try slackening the locking collar, stand the shaft vertical with the fibreglass rod at the top, and spray some WD40 or other penetrating oil, so that it goes down between inner and outer shafts. It may take two or three days depending on how stuck it is. Give a squirt each day and try moving the shaft a bit. This is not always successful but it is worth a try. Shafts should really be taken apart frequently and washed in clean water to get rid of salt and sand that may get in.

Eric.

If you will be leaving your rod on for 1 or 2 weeks try coating the shaft with a LITTLE bit of Silicone Grease. I find that usally helps keep the shafts from locking.
