A question arose a while ago about the pulse delay (REJECT) settings on the potentiometer scale. When the control is fully anticlockwise, with the knob pointer to the MIN position, the sample pulse delay is an accurate 10uS. This is set up on test with an internal preset. The start of the 10uS delay is from the beginning of the transmitter switch off.
With many potentiometers, there is not much change in resistance for the first few degrees of rotation, either way. Hence the first division on the scale after MIN, is still close to 10uS. At the second division (9 o
 
When you don't have the educational background and you learn by useage or experience.....to have the 'correct' explantation explained...it is refreshing to know what you suspected is correct.
I have noticed that it took setting the reject to about the 9 o'clock position to quiet down the 'sometimes' higher gathering of minerials or salts on some beaches on the wet sand and in the saltwater. To know now that this '9' setting is 15uS. is a shadow that has been removed from my brain. The CS7 had the many different tones to asjust by, the Goldquest SS has been a guess till now.
