Goldscan 5C

Is the Goldscan 5C worth the price difference over the Tdi? It seems like the Whites is more versatile is this correct?
Thanks

I just researched this to the Nth degree before buying a Goldscan 5C. I have heard that they share the same circuit, but I have also heard that the Goldscan uses higher quality components and is just a bit more powerful (but maybe the correct term would be more sensitive). I know the dials on the Goldscan are water-resistant/splashproof, pretty sure the TDI controls are not. The Goldscan has a few more options that the TDI does not: 2nd 10-turn Ground Balance, Tone, Audio Invert, Battery Meter instead of LEDs. There is a new version of the TDI that does have the 10-turn Ground Balance. I think there are other improvements as well. I don't think its on the White's website yet, but you may be able to get one if you call them.

The TDI's seem to be bang for the buck, but I am glad I spent the extra $ for the Goldscan. Its just NICE. When you hold it and turn the knobs you can tell its just quality. It may be hard to get one though. Good Luck,
