Goldscan IV and Minelab coils

Just a question ... Would the Goldscan IV be able to use the Minelab coils mono and DD or would one have to change damping resistors. Have heard on some forums that Minelab coils have a resistor in the coil housing .. if any one can comment on this .. and or what would the damping resistor for minelab machines be ??????
Thanks in advance

Hi gef12,

I've never tried this but would expect problems. The only type of coil that is likely to work is a mono, but because the electrical characteristics are very different, components in the detector might overheat. GS5 was specifically designed to accomodate ML type coils.

i built goldscan iv but the signals reach 2sk43 transistors from ne5532 and 4 ics but there is no out from them
also i donot see any coil that i can made all talk but there is no enough signal
