GOLDSCAN

I have a Goldquest SS, which i am delighted with....I have the chance to buy a Goldscan as a spare system...How does it perform ?

The Goldscan has more facilities for adjustment, plus ground balancing for iron mineralised ground. If it is the version with the belt mounted battery pack, then it comes with a built in switchable probe. The minimum pulse delay is 15uS, so it has not quite the small object sensitivity of the Goldquest, but still very good. Response not quite as sharp and audio is the variable frequency ticking type. Has a form of iron discrimination that certainly knocks out anything from a 1in nail upwards, but smaller pieces are often detected. If over 5 years old (most are) then the battery pack may have lost some capacity, but I used good batteries and some packs are still strong after 10 years use.
Eric.
