Good day of finds, even though detector broke.....

started off real good, dug a few wheats, one was a 1909 my first ever of that year, got a cool "good for 1 cent" token dated 1909............then my minelab x-70 broke! I was pretty upset. I have exactly 2 weeks till school starts and had planned to hunt everyday till then. I contacted minelab and they said send it in and once they get it, it will take 15 days to fix it!!!! That did NOT make my day.

I finished hunting using my backup detector. I should not even have to use one but I used the ace250 for rest of the day. Man it sure makes me appreciate my minelab.

Ended up finding a whole slew of wheats, 3 injuns 1900, 1903, 1905
a cool heart shaped token "good for quart of milk" and the one cent token. Was hunting alongside some new sidewalks that were replaced 2-3 yrs ago, all the finds were only 2-3 inches deep. Good thing since I was using the ace....lol

I have only found two indians and they were both this month.

If you don't mind my asking, .... what happened to your Minelab?

Very nice finds

it first just shut off, I turned it back on, then it shut off again, I took batteries out, got a new set........no deal same thing. Then the screen went goofy, and displayed half symbols, numbers etc....looked real odd....... I tried a new coil, same problem. I have no fear I feel better after talking to them, they assured me fixing it was no problem it is under warranty.

Thanks for the information.

I have used and enjoyed Minelab detectors in the past, (Sov. & Explorer), and have heard of a few similar incidents. Minelab is a great company and they will get you fixed and running again, but it is still a pain to be out detecting and have something like this happen.

I had a White's XLT suddenly go wacky on me years back and had to send it in for warranty repair. I too was pretty upset, and kind of surprised as the machine had performed beautifully for months then just bang, the screen suddenly starts showing all kinds of stuff, it lets out a scream, and goes blank. I too did all the things you did, new batteries, coils, ........ nothing. Got it back from White's, good as new, and it worked just fine for many years after.

Hope you get your machine back real soon.

The heart shaped token is really neat ! And I'll bet it's worth some bux as it's unusual. Good going, steve in so az

Love the tokens buddy! Sorry about the machine.

Nice coins and broken detectors happen to each of us sooner or later! Have had repairs done on mine but I keep them for a long time and so I used them a lot....one at a time of course! God Bless! Betty
