Good news... I got permission to detect the place I mentioned Sunday
Bad news... It's a mess. Trees were harvested in the last few years. There are ruts, roots and branches everywhere along with metal scraps every inch of the way
Also, I was told people had already been detecting there. Unfortunately, they are the type of bums that leave there holes open like this.

The pic doesn't look as bad as it did while I was standing over it, but it's pretty big. These holes are everywhere (some with the trash laying next to it). Because this place was a big mess to begin with, it probably wont amount to anything... but NO GOOD can come from this laziness
. It only takes a few seconds to fill your hole.
Now back to more good news. I did find a small area there that had a few goodies mingling with the trash
Here's some pics

Here's everything good
A few wheaties
1917 & 1939 Merc
1896 Canadian dime

I didn't clean the 1896 Canadian because I thought it had a great look just the way it was
Well, I'll probably go there once or twice again. It's not as good as I'd hoped, but there's gotta be a couple more silvers there. I just hesitate because I don't want to be associated with the what the bums left behind
Have a good one,
Matt
