The past few weekends I have been going up to the hills to detect for gold, and so far I am 0 for 3 for the summer, but that's OK its good to get out and look for nuggets. Found 5 last year. So I decided to take a break from gold hunting and hit the coins again. I went to the Barber shop but the grass was way to tall to detect so I went to a park that I had hit pretty hard last year but showed very few silver coins probably only 10 or so. Right off the bat I got this hit sounded like a dime but not solid, it was bouncing between penny and quarter. So I dug down and completely went past it then I saw it sticking out of the side of the hole. My first walking, Man I was pumped.

Wow way to go!! Incredible that I found my first ever walking half this week too, and it is the same year. Great big silver!! Look for a post soon on the MXT forum. Great find Montanagold!:clapping:
 
Nice WLH there montanagold. :clapping: I bet you were really pumping being it's your first. They are a beautiful coin bar none. Now that you got your first one under your belt the second one is just around the corner. Good luck on your next outing and who knows..............that next WLH might be waiting for you. HH.

Them Walker's are always fun to find and it is awesome to see that much Silver come from the ground. Been having a dry spell on Silver Halves but hope to dig another sometime soon. Congrats on your first Walker and hope you pick up a few Gold Nuggets on your next trip up into the mountains. Good Luck and HH to you.:detecting:
 
Thanks guys for the great words. I was pretty excited, almost as excited as when I found my Large cent ( featured on the upcoming video EMD4 out this fall ) It was weird because it seems to only have been about 3 inches deep but I really thought it was a penny, It wasn't until I stuck my probe in and bumped it when it slid out just enough to see it, Thats when I knew it was good. It has been a while since I had found something that got me excited. I carried that coin around all weekend just staring at it.:blink:
