google earth?

Does anyone here use google earth? I just downloaded the free version and where I live, of course, turns into an out of fucus blob when you zoom in at all. Cant even distinguish the shape of buildings or anything. Is that a common issue with all the versions or do they do it so people will buy the pay versions?

Google Earth is a great program for the higher populated areas. They use high and low resolution photo's, if your looking for a site in the low resolution area your out of luck. I have been frustrated many times. Make sure the program connects to the Google Earth server on start up, firewalls and spam software may need to be opened up for this program if you don't connect.

I use the free version. I have located a few sites within 5-10 miles of my house that I did not know were there. I have not been able to hunt them but I plan to do so! The premium version promises higher resolution images, but until I verify some of the sites I have found on the free version, I am not going to pay for the other.

same here Doug...I can't seem to find any info on the plus version at all or any samples...It seems that all the topo in no. ca. is low resolution and can not zoom in to lets say at least 3 miles in altitude... robert

It's not far from where I live.

or if you can,

see it here: IS THAT CAR FLYING?

Can you pay for that to zoom in closer then the 100 yds? That site has about the best resolution out of any of the ones i have seen. thank you

I have to plus version it is only about $20 a year but much faster. Seems like a little more resolution but am not really sure. I didn't think to make a before and after pic of some thing.

Have you tried the Terra Server from Microsoft. It doesn't have the nice 3D stuff and all the Google Earth has but has way better resolution on stuff out of town so to speak. Acually has the same resolution everywhere or so it seems to my experience.
